Visiting Den Haag

This is not the first time that I was required to go to the Netherlands to attend a workshop.  I can say my trip this time of the year is quite lonelier than before.  Why?
  • the trip I had last year was full of excitement,  I was nervous but very excited.  I was sent to attend the workshop as part of the transition activities for our client.   It was really a good experience meeting most of the people that I was working with in person and actually experiencing their day to day life (even for only a week),
  • the trip this year... is uncertain.  It is the same workshop.  However, I don't feel as much support as I got compared to last year.  Honestly, I feel like I'm going to a war all alone with one 45 mm gun.
It was nice going back here.  At least I was allowed to choose the flight via Singapore which gave me a chance to enjoy a day with my brother's family before I went here.

It was really nice to spend the time with Jay, Ia and Sashi... my family outside of Manila :) We ate and played with Sashi... talked about little things in life.. and it was nice to catch up with what's happening.  I'm excited to see them again on Sunday.  :)

My flight from Singapore to Amsterdam took around 14 hours (left SG at 12:00MN arrived Netherlands at 2:00PM).  Surprisingly, I was able to sleep better than last year.

As I am travelling alone, it gave me time to think about what's going on with my life, the choices that I took, the opportunities I let pass me by, the burden that I seem to be holding within me.

Angels

I dreamt of angels today.  Saw my lolo sitting right in front of me....he was smiling.  Then he told me and Earl "ok yan... kilala nyo ang isa't isa" then he hugged us both.  Not sure what that means but I'm happy to see my lolo again...

Then after a few minutes, I saw lola Belay and lolo Sionga... we were eating in their dining room in Kamias.... there were a lot of people... it felt like the old Pabasa days... all of them were smiling....

Despedida of my Inaanak

It's always sad to say goodbyes.... my niece was here for almost a month.  She was the first baby in our family and now how she's grown into a young lady :)  How time flies....

we've been to places when she was here... of course nothing beats our Boracay adventure... I will surely miss this girl... i took care of her since she was a baby...

i was even touched when it was time to say goodbye she hugged me very tightly and told me that she'll miss me... and then she turned to Polgas... Polgas gave her his hand as if to hand shake... but then she told him... "pede pa-hug?".... so they did.... I'm very happy to see that she trusts Polgas very much... then she told him, take care of my ninang... i'm watching you (with matching hand gestures)... i was very touched.... knowing my niece... she doesn't get close to guys so easily...

i'll surely miss my niece...

SWW - Saturday Weekend Work

Hmm.. almost a week ago, I was just in the sandy beach of Boracay... relaxing and enjoying the view.... now... I'm in the four corners of my cubicle... reading mails and doing whatever it is that I can to be able to lessen the things that I need to do for the coming week.

My boss will be out in the next 2 weeks and some of his tasks were handed over to me..... I hope I won't mess it up...

Kuala Lumpur Day 1

This is a very interesting day for me... I was packing my things very late last night.. I set my alarm to 4:00 AM as my flight is at 8:00 AM... I was surprised when I was woken up by my mom opening my cabinet.... and guess what time it is... 6:00 AM?!?!?!!?!? I immediately stood up... knocked on my brothers room door.. get dressed (without bothering to take a bath)... gargled some mouth wash.. and headed towards the door...

My brother was driving like mad.. I felt like I was in the fast and the furious movie.. good thing there was no traffic... we were able to reach NAIA terminal 3 in less than 30 minutes... :) whew...

since i was travelling alone.. i have no choice but to observe people around me... here are my observations:

  • SQ915 MLA to SG - I was seated at 41D.... there was a vacant seat between me and this old looking business guy.... he had a lot of newspapers and magazines on his seat.... he's chinese looking... so i minded my own business and browsed through the magazines... i decided to watch scream 4 during the flight.. while watching the movie... food was served... hmmm i wonder why the guy sitting beside me was served first and his food is different from that in the menu.... ... then he keeps on looking at me... it seems that he wanted to talk to me.. when a stewardess approached him.. he asked how to operate the video... hehe...

  • immigration KLIA - there was a long queue of people... it took me around 30 minutes before it was finally my turn... while waiting i noticed an arabian girl... she's so covered up and only her eyes can be seen.. he was looking intently at the girl next in line to her... unlike her that girl has too little clothes on... hehe... i wondered what she was thinking.. does she want to wear less too? or maybe she was offended of her? i dunno... aside from this.. i also noticed a lot of persian/indian looking fellow directed towards the immigration office for clearance... i kept on thinking and hoping that I won't have to go through that...
After immigration, i went to a money changer... 10,000 PHP = 653 RM... oh well... then I queued up for taxi... budget taxi here is 74.30 RM from the airport to my hotel (Renaissance).

My room was ok... not as big as my room last time in Traders Hotel but this would suffice... I'm 5 minutes away from KLCC so not bad... :)

I'll clear up some of my SERP mails tonight so I can concentrate on my HR tasks for tomorrow... wish me luck!!
